Meet the Maker - Alice Lee

Alice Lee

Pocky, White Rabbit, Haw Flakes and Hello Panda – all represent childhood snack memories for illustrator, muralist and ceramicist Alice Lee (she/her). She transformed these fond memories into playful ceramic vases that celebrate and honor the child within. Her other ceramic works include Mooncake Wishes, a collection of ceramic dishes, mugs, planters, and vases inspired by the flower shapes found in mooncakes, and her childhood memories with her grandma; and 50 Foxes, her 2023 weekly challenge make a ceramic fox each week that represents a memory or experience that happened.

She wants to create work with heart, purpose, and originality, with collaborators and for communities who value the same things. Some of her favorite projects include an interactive mural installation for the Asian Art Museum titled "Together, Let's Be ____", the participatory installation "Dear Future Me" at the XOXO Festival, and contributing to Elizabeth Warren's 2020 presidential campaign as part of her guest artist series. Her drawing show with Adobe called Doodle Therapy has over 200k+ views, and you can watch & draw along here. Her murals are found throughout the Bay Area for projects with National Geographic, Philz Coffee, Slack, and SJ Walls (Worldwide Walls / formerly Pow! Wow! San Jose).
