Roz Chang (she/her) is a retired children’s librarian who enjoys crafting small things that make people smile. She first made miniature teddy bears, and has expanded to making small stuffies (toys), ornaments, pins, and small objects out of needle-felt and recycled wool sweaters for the past 20 years. To create miniature gnomes, squirrels, teddy bears and snowmen, she has been needle felting where she takes wool roving (what is used to spin yarn), a special needle, and a small firm pad to "shrink" or felt the wool into 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional shapes. Her latest passion is felting Christmas pickles.
A second generation textile craftsperson following after her mother’s textile work, Roz’s goal is to create items that will make people smile and bring happiness. She also shares her love of crafts by recently teaching classes at Lovey's Tea Shoppe in Pacifica and Swirl Works in Menlo Park.
